AQUARIUS: POLAR OPPOSITES - excerpt

AQUARIUS: POLAR OPPOSTIES
(C) 2005 Paige Burns

“Follow me,” Aries grabbed his hand again and pulled him through a door to the back of the garage.

With his long strides, it wasn’t long before she was no longer pulling him and he was walking next to her. He was reluctant to let go of her hand, relishing the vibrations her touch sent through his body. There was no way he was going to indulge his inner urges for her, that would be career suicide, but he was loath to break her spell. All too soon he would be back to business.
She led him to a large cottage, offset from the rest of the buildings he’d seen so far, and opened the unlocked door. Sweeping her arms grandly, she ushered him in the vast great room.

“Ta da,” she sang, as she clicked on a light switch.

Warm light illuminated an open, airy living room with a homey feel. A huge fireplace encased in the same cultured stone he’d seen on the main house dominated the room. Deep brown wood floors led to a hallway on the left and an open, airy gourmet kitchen on the right. Floor-to-ceiling windows flanked either side of the fireplace, highlighting the view of the city in the distance.

Lance strode to the windows as he took in the simplicity of the decorations and the warmth the cottage exuded.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” Aries whispered from beside him as she laced her fingers in his. “I get the same view from my studio and it’s one of my favorite places to be on a clear night.”

He turned to her, seeing the bliss on her features as she took in the city view. For all he’d done and seen in his life, right now, this was one of his favorite places. Standing here watching unadulterated joy flicker over her face at such a simple thing.

Turning, she looked up at him, spreading some of her pleasure to his jaded heart and making it beat a little faster. Her eyes widened a bit and he wondered if his gaze was as predatory as he felt.

He didn’t know what he expected, but seeing the delight in her eyes give way to heat brought his cock to attention.

Her lips parted in anticipation and her green eyes dilated with passion, turning a darker shade of jade.

All he wanted was a simple taste of her, just a nip to quench the thirst he’d been feeling for her from the moment he’d seen her scanning the airport crowd. He bent his head with care, giving her every chance to step away, to say no.

She lunged forward, closing the gap and greedily pressed her lips to his, circling his neck with her arms, dragging her body up his tall frame so that he had to hold her ass as she looped her legs around his waist.

Before he could think to respond and press her tightly against him, she jumped down, her hands trailing fire down his chest until she took a step back and flashed him a mischievous smile.

“This is going to be so much fun,” she gasped with a little laugh, then turned and practically skipped out the front door.

“Yeah,” he moaned, mentally kicking himself in the ass at his lapse in judgment. “Fun as hell.”
