Ah, the joys of summer...

So, yeah, it's officially summer right now (yippee!), and one of my fave things to do is hit the pool/lake/beach. What's better than a cool, crisp margarita and a gaggle of hot bodies? LOL. I work at an Air Force base where our primary population is young pilots in training (yeah, I know, it's a hard, hard life I lead *g*). And we don't have just Air Force dudes (and dudettes), we've also got Navy and Marine Corps pilots...yum! Consequently, on any given day, there's a bunch of shirtless hotties either running around the base perimiter or hanging out at the pool...can you say "eye candy"??

Back in the day when I was running every day, we had a Marine Corp guy we used as a rabbit (i.e., he'd set the pace and then I'd run behind him, huffing and puffing to keep up...and just panting in general *g*). Mmmm, there's nothing like staring at a well-defined booty and fabulous back to keep your motivation up! LOL.

So what are your top things to do during the summer? Blog with me today and I'll pick a random winner for any book from my backlist!

Cheers (tipping a margarita glass at y'all)!

Some of my favorite things to do are grilling and eating lots of watermelon. My drink of choice to be sipping would be pina coladas but mine have to be virgins right now since I am pregnant. Just something about sitting with a pina colada in one hand and a book in the other that is so relaxing.

My fave thing to do during the summer at the moment is hang out under the a/c and put my son in drama camp. Just kidding. One of the best parts of summer is watching my chile peppers ripen to bright green, red, and purple. My cayennes and seranos are already doing lovely with the heat. And this year I'm trying new varieties of tomatoes, so I should have some very interesting salsa in July.

My favorite thing to do in the summer is to stay out of the sun! My skin burns too easily and the mosquitos love me! LOL It must be my type O+ blood. I've heard that mosquitos prefer Type O. My hubby has Type B- and they don't bother him - just me. Give me a/c and a good book and I'm happy! :)

Watch dvds and tv inside-where the airconditioning is. 100 degree tempertures give me heatstroke.

I like to grab a good book and a drink and put my feet up and read, while hubby barbecues.

I agree with Cherie. I will enjoy virgin Pina Colodas while in the shade, too much sunny and I burn to a crisp.

I will agree with some of the other ladies on here that remarked about the sun not being kind to their skin. I don't tan either and tend to burn so I dont stay out in the sun much. No pun intended with my name either. Anyhow, I do love swimming. I enjoy camping out and hiking in the woods which means cook out also when its dinner time. Riding my Harley is fun too. I love the wind in my hair. And then there are the concerts and conventions. I cannot miss those. But even with all that, I am up for an adventure and trying new things. This year I am going to try scuba diving. Should be fun. Hope everyone has a great summer!
