A man with markings; Sexy or not Sexy?

Okay, do you find a tattooed men sexy? That’s today’s blog question.

Webster dictionary calls a tattoo an: indelible mark or figure fixed upon the body by insertion of pigment under the skin or by production of scars.

In my book, The Lost Wolf Warrior, the hero and heroine are marked with a symbolic tattoo's on their shoulders. In my mind, giving them these markings made them both sexy and mysterious--at the same time.

I have to admit, a well placed tattoo in the right spot on a man, makes me all aquiver and then again, too much of the same good thing...makes me grimace.

What makes women love men with tattoos? Is it the old bad boy persona that we love to love? Is it the pirate-sea-fantasy we conjure up about the damsel being kidnapped and ravished by the handsome, tattooed, man with the black eye patch, who becomes her long lost love?

What’s your tattoo-man fantasy and why?

I don't know that I have a tattoo'd man fantasy but I think that done right, tattoos can be really sexy. (of course the sexy comes from within so I'd most likely find the the person with the tattoo sexy with or without the tattoo.)

I don't like it when people have them just because it's a trend or to try to look cool. I like them when there is meaning behind the tattoo to the person who has it.

I'd never get it because I'm a chicken when it comes to needles *g*

I have a couple of minor characters who have tatoos - one has a heart that pulses and another shape that appears to move. I think tatoos in the future won't be limited to color on the skin.

My son had a 7 inch blue dragon tatooed to his right arm to symbolize the different direction his life had taken after he met his bride. She had one across her lower back that is a celtic design featuring a wolf.

My personal preference (on fantasy guys) is for bold markings with brilliant color and unusual shapes. Vin sure looks hot with his, and the other guy you posted would be hot with or without. Whew! Thanks for the eye candy.

I like a small tattoo too. I am not attracted by large pieces of art etched on human skin. Maybe it is the 'look at me' factor? Not sure.

I'm not turned on by tattoos -- it's the body that counts. *vbg*

In my novel, "Love's Second Sight" one of the minor, but very, very sexy characters, Thorok, has a tattoo of a serpent. It starts at his belly and goes down...and can rear its fearsome head to strike :)

In general, I don't fantasise about tattoed man because I like the natural skin look but some men do carry it well, like the third photo you've posted here.

My tattoo-man fantasy is George Bush with a bunny rabbit on the right side of his nose. A man thus decorated could not, with integrity, bomb the planet to pulp.

Good stuff, guys. Keep it coming. Yes, I think how the man with the tattoo carries himself lends to the attraction.

I think it depends on the man, first and foremost. Next would be the design and where it's placed. Just having a tattoo wouldn't make a scrawny guy or a lardbutt sexy, IMO.

Oh,Emma, that's good. I have a tattoo on my left shoulder. Hurt at first, then after a while, it just gets sort numb.

I'm not a big fan of tattoos, probably for different reasons.

For one, they're just too, too permanent. Tastes change all the time...of course, I prefer white walls at home, so I can change things easily with curtains, pillows, etc., rather than having to repaint. So it would make sense I'd have the same tastes in decorating my men. *smirk*

For another, every male in my immediate family has one. And three out of five got them...well, in the detention center or jail. So they tend to signify a certain...class...of person to me, no matter how unfair it is to say that.

In sci-fi or fantasy, I can view a tattoo as something culturally significant and can find that interesting. But when I see them on "real people", I tend to assume they're the result of a little too much alcohol and peer pressure. *LOL*

In some cultures the tat's have a special meaning to them and their people. I guess thats one reasone I like them. Like I said If it wasn't for my hubby I would have a lot of them. Maybe not for people to see but for me. icia

Ahhh here's the answer: The Rock

Dwayne's father is Rocky Johnson, an African-American. His mother is a full-blooded Samoan. Through his mother, Dwayne is related to almost all wrestlers of Samoan descent, from Afa and Sika to Rikishi and even "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka (though only honorarily to Snuka.)

Ahhh, so the conclusion is... drum roll... you got to have a "it" before a tattoo can enhance "it". :).

Good one guys!
